Sooo many good (bad at the time) memories rushed through my mind: never hike down the Grand Canyon (7.2 miles) unless you’re prepared to hike back up (in the middle of the summer day); never go scrambling up a rocky trail covered by more rocks than trail when you’re 55-years old with a bad leg and regular running shoes.
I'm sending this to all my friends who INSIST that hiking is such a cool adventure. I'm almost 76 years old, for pete's sake. I like the idea of walking on the sidewalk around my urban home...homeless tent encampments are all the "wildlife" I need to see, thank you very much.
