Very true. I approach documentaries these days with one eyebrow raised. Often the outright lies are subtly wrapped, but the truly nefarious lies are the omissions and the editing. I treat them now as I would a “historical” film - as you’ve said they are entertaining perhaps, but should viewed as a prompt to read and research and not taken at face value.

Honestly, I prefer to just watch fiction. When I can find a program that doesn't preach at me.
